Ontologist

Securboration, Inc., a small, growing research firm engaged in Department of Defense (DoD) and other scientific research, including modeling and simulation, net-centric applications, and cyber warfare, is currently seeking an Ontologist to join our team in the Research Triangle Park, NC or Washington D.C. region.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field or discipline such as Ontology, Formal Logic, Semantic Technology or Cognitive Science
  • Native competence in English
  • Fluency in one other language
  • Ontology development in OWL and/or SUO/KIF
  • Experience in developing domain ontologies and applying inference to satisfy requirements in information extraction, data modeling, enterprise architecture and/or information analysis
  • Familiarity with open source upper ontologies and inference engines
  • The ability to obtain and hold a DoD Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with open source upper ontologies and inference engines
  • experience with UIMA
